California to Secede from United States of America

Anybody who’s lived in Southern California knows that there is vast support among the growing immigrant community for secession from the Union.

How will we as a nation handle that?

Hell in California

I used to live in Ventura California, within sight of Point Mugu, the northern boarder of Malibu. Now that I’ve become an expatriate of the Golden State, I look back on Malibu with some nostalgia.  Everybody who lives near or in Malibu knows that Malibu burns up on a regular basis; Pacific Coast Highway slides into the ocean regularly; Big waves batter the beach homes of the rich and famous regularly; floods take out gullies and canyons regularly; and there is enough high grade marijuana being harvested in those hills every week to keep the state of  New Hampshire stoned for five years.  Most of that weed is consumed locally. How else could Bob Dylan stay incoherent for the last forty years?

As a former Californian I offer a few Ideas on why the fire started: First-Arson; Arson is always the leading suspect for fires in Malibu-Arsonists love to burn Malibu and get their handiwork lots of  free airtime. Second- Marijuana induced stupor, or plane old whiskey  induced stupor leading to accidental fire. In California the difference between a determination of accidental fire and arson with manslaughter charges depends on the quality of your attorney. Third-Bubbas meth lab blew up; This used to only occur in the inland empire, but has been migrating to the coast in recent years. Meth production is big money, and why should the rich of Malibu leave it’s production to the poor? Fourth and least likely-the fire occurred naturally.

I predict that in the next thirty or forty years California will try to succeed from the Union of the United States of America. When news days are slow at that time the news reporters will have to fill the airwaves with something besides Malibu fires. Does anybody care when Tijuana is on fire?

The Republican Schism

There are various constituencies in the Republican party: The Country Club Republicans with their pragmatic approach to ethics and wealth; the fiscal conservatives; the Military proponents; the neo conservatives; the sort of neo conservatives;  and the Social Christian conservatives to name a few.

Social Christian Conservatives are perhaps the most stubborn of the bunch. They don’t believe in moral relativity, don’t believe in ethical pragmatism, don’t believe Mormons are Christians and by and large feel betrayed by the Republican Party.

Non Social Christian Conservatives keep hoping that those pesky little Christian believers will feel so horrified at the prospect of Hillary Clinton being the 44th President of the United States that those Fundamentalists will hold their noses and vote for a Republican candidate they find repugnant. This I believe is a terrible mistake.

While Socially Conservative Christians will curl their toenails at Hillary’s potential Presidency, they remember how they’ve been lied to in the past by people evoking the name of Ronald Regan, God and country. Largely, most of the Republicans evoking such worthy icons of faith and patriotism have turned out to be liars: Karl Rove comes foremost to mind.

So, while Fred, Mitt, Rudy and John may be the eventual nominee, the party should pay attention to Socially Conservative Christian leaders who are talking third party.  Social Conservative Christians survived President Clinton number one, and know they can survive President Clinton number two.

Take heed Republican Party.

The Implosion of the Republican Party

It’s about 13 months until the 2008 election. The big question is: how badly has the Republican Party crippled itself? The answer is blowing hard across the pages of history.

Remember the images from the first gulf war of endless precious oil fields ablaze and needlessly burning crude oil without generating any power useful to humanity?  When I look at the Republican party today I see needless damage, waste and outright pollution.

Smart Democrats know that the electorate isn’t excited about the slate of Democrat candidates. They know that voters are sick of Republicans. Even James Carville admits that.

So, while Republicans wander in the desert looking for a Moses like candidate to lead them out of exile Rudy, John, Fred and Mitt lead the primaries in practices detestable to the faithful.

The Lord seems to be preparing a whirlwind to teach the faithful not to stray from the road of salvation, and her name is Hillary. At this moment it seems that the election is Hillary’s to loose. The Republicans are like the prophet Elijah who ran off into the desert and prayed that God would let them die because the mean Democrats were mean.

Hillary Clinton Soars in fund raising and the polls

Hillary Clinton, potentially the 44th president of the United States, is soaring in both fund raising and the polls. Like Hitler, who had his brown shirts, Hillary has the reluctant support of the Ku Kos Klan and Pure Progressive Race. (Those find my portrayal of the nutty left as the Ku Kos Klan, Pure Progressive Race and Move On from Liberal Democracy Dot Org; please refer to Clarence Thomas’ treatment by said groups)

Hilary is good both in a knife fight and in endurance. She can and will use the crazy left to her advantage when possible, then she’ll cut their throats in public when it is to her advantage. She seems to be learning to float like a butterfly and sting like a bee as of late. While she used to be a bare knuckled brawler, she now is learning finesse.

The Republicans are looking like the Chicago Bears at this moment. They’ve repeatedly had their @$$ kicked recently and everybody is holding their breath to see if they can turn it around.  Yet, there is still a long season to go.

If Rudy or Mitt gets the nomination for the Republicans, I predict that Evangelical Christian conservatives will bolt the party. James Dobson and others are already preparing the way. John McCain may be able to hold Christian conservatives, but that remains to be seen.

Newt is out for the moment, Fred is busy alienating Christian conservatives, Rudy is looking squirrelly, John is like an old prize fighter who has trouble adapting and Mitt is well, looking like a triangulating wealthy Mormon.
